Eric Mentuck is a First Nations bustle artist based in Canada. He’s known for creating vibrant, modern bustle sets while honoring the culture and community that shaped him.
Through in-person workshops, Eric travels to Indigenous communities to teach a new, simplified method of bustle making—so youth and adults alike can carry the tradition forward with pride.
A New Way to Make a Bustle
Eric Mentuck is a First Nations bustle artist bringing a modern twist to a sacred tradition. His in-person workshops help communities across Canada learn how to craft their own bustles with care, pride, and connection.
Eric Mentuck is an Indigenous artist, educator, and cultural entrepreneur based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Raised on a reserve in Canada, his teachings were rooted in the land, passed down through mentors, and shaped by over 30 years of lived experience.
After a mentor told him, “Teach as many people as you can,” Eric began traveling to communities across Canada, sharing his modern method for bustle making and powwow regalia with youth, elders, and families.
Bustle Dome is the result: a growing movement reconnecting people with their culture through art, workshops, and education.
